Kawayan Festival is a transliteration for the word ‘bamboo’

Kawayan festival is held on every seventh day of September in maragondon, Cavite wherein group of street dancers parade indigenous materials. An exhibit of Bamboo products likewise done in the town plaza.

It offers awesome tourist attractions, magnificent beaches, hot spring resorts, colorful festivals, hundreds of scenic spots and world-class hotels and facilities. Not to mention the tropical climate, the affordable prices as well as the friendly and hospitable, English-speaking people! You will be glad you came, and we’re sure, you WILL come back for more FUN in the Philippines!

Kawayan’ is a transliteration for the word ‘bamboo’ of this Cavite word. I think it is quite creative to promote the town through one of its sources of livelihood, that is, using bamboo as materials for creating products of various sorts. By the way, fishing and farming are other two major sources of income among maragondon.
